The weather has once again changed his sides in Karnataka. The northern districts of the state are receiving continuous rains. Meanwhile, flood -like conditions have been created in low -lying areas. In Dharwad district, heavy rains have also been released for Thursday. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy rains. There is a danger of floods in such a situation. Keeping this in mind, the administration is also engaged in preparations. Common people are also being informed.

Many areas of Dharwad district have been raining heavily since late evening, due to which water logging has been created in some low -lying areas. In view of the red alert, Deputy Commissioner and District Disaster Management Authority chief Divya Prabhu has asked the departments to be on alert.

In view of the possible floods like possible floods in Tupprihallla and Benihrla catchment areas, the villagers living in the low -lying areas have been appealed to be vigilant and to take all necessary precautions. Similarly, there is also alert of heavy rains in the coastal districts of Karnataka. A red alert of rain has been issued in Udupi district, due to which a holiday has been announced in school and Anganwadi today. The district administration has issued advisory to the common people.

Alert issued in Kerala too

The monsoon knock in South India was only last month. However, the monsoon was calm after heavy rains for a week. Now the monsoon has been activated again. In such a situation, alert has also been issued in many districts of Kerala. The IMD has released ‘Orange Alert’ for two districts on Thursday, for four districts on Friday, nine districts on Saturday and 14 districts on Sunday.

What are orange and red alerts

When a red alert is issued, common people should take necessary for their safety. At the same time, orange alert should be fully prepared. Whereas, Yellow alert should be monitored on the situation. ‘Orange Alert’ means torrential rains from 11 cm to 20 cm within 24 hours, while ‘yellow alert’ means heavy rainfall between six cm to 11 cm. The IMD has also advised fishermen not to go to the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coast from Wednesday to Sunday in view of the possibility of strong winds in the coastal region and bad weather conditions.
