For the 14th consecutive time, Surya scored history in T20, also broke Tendulkar’s record in IPL

Suryakumar Yadav once again proved why he is considered the king of T20 cricket. In the match against Punjab Kings, he set a new world record in T20 cricket by scoring 25+ runs for the 14th consecutive time. During this innings, he also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of scoring the most runs for Mumbai Indians in IPL. Surya has now become the highest sixes batsmen for Mumbai in the same season.

IPL 2025 for Mumbai Indians has once again become the batting season of Suryakumar Yadav. On Monday, he created history against Punjab Kings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Surya completed his 640 runs this season, scoring 57 runs off 39 balls and became the highest run -scorer for MI in a season. Earlier this record was in the name of Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 618 runs in 2010.

But Surya did not stop here. He has also achieved the distinction of becoming the first Mi player to score 600+ runs in IPL for the second time. Earlier, he scored 605 runs in 2023.

During this innings, Surya made another big world record. He scored 25 or more in T20 for the 14th consecutive time and overtook South Africa’s Temba Bavuma. He did this feat by hitting a brilliant six over Deep Square leg off Kyle Jaymison.

Surya’s form has been amazing this season. He has so far scored 29, 48, 27*, 67, 28, 40, 26, 68*, 40*, 54, 48*, 35, 73*and now 57 runs. Due to this great performance, Mumbai Indians not only reached the playoffs, but also remains in the race of Top-2.

Not only this, Surya has also made a record of hitting the most sixes (33*) in a season by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025, which was earlier the name of Sanath Jayasuriya (31 sixes, in 2008).
