As soon as the IPL 2025 is over, the Indian team will go to England for the 5 -match Test series. After Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired Test cricket, all eyes are on the new captain. The selectors may soon announce the captain of the team. In such a situation, former Indian coach Ravi Shastri (Ravi Shastri) has named two players, who should be the captain of the Test.

Shubman has all the qualities of captaincy: Ravi Shastri

Actually, during the ICC review show, Ravi Shastri has said to hand over the captaincy to young player Shubman Gill. He believes that Gill still has a lot of time, if he is prepared from now, he can handle the Test team for many years to come.

Regarding Shubman, he said, “Shubman is very good. Give him a chance. He is 25-26 years old and has time. Prepare him. This is the right time for captaincy.” Looking at the captaincy of Gujarat Titans, he further said, “A little bit of Shubman, he felt very impressive in it. He has all the qualities of captaincy”

Pant is good option after Gill

Apart from Shubman Gill, Shastri has described Rishabh Pant as a good option. He is captaining Lucknow after Delhi Capitals. Ravi Shastri said on this, “Both Pant and Shubman are good options for the years in my eyes. It is necessary to prepare them from now on.”

Bumrah should not be made captain

Ravi Shastri has warned the selectors regarding Jaspreet Bumrah. He believes that Bumrah will weaken in bowling in the weight of captaincy. He advised, “Bumrah could have been a natural option for me after Australia, but I do not want him to weaken as a bowler under the pressure of captaincy.”

He further said, “Bumrah has just returned from a serious injury and has to come in his rhythm by matching one by one.”
