France has given Israel the biggest blow ever. French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France will recognize Palestine as a nation. Macron announced this on Thursday. This decision of France and its President Emmanuel Macron is being seen as a major change in their stand on Israel. Macron has also described the matter of stopping the war in Gaza and saving people.

French President Emmanuel Macron said in a post conducted on the X on Thursday- According to his historical commitment to just and permanent peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the state of Palestine. I will make this serious announcement before the United Nations General Assembly this September. Today’s immediate priority is to end the war in Gaza and provide relief to the civilian population.
What is the whole matter?
On October 7, 2023, Hamas entered Israel and massacred. He brutally murdered more than a thousand citizens of Israel. After this, Israel launched a campaign to eliminate Hamas in Gaza which is still going on. According to the Hamas -run health department, more than 50 thousand people have died in Gaza in Israeli attacks. However, it does not have a different military and civil data. Initially French President Macron supported Israel and often spoke against the anti-Jewish spirit. However, in recent months, there has been a change in the attitude of Israel’s war in Gaza.
How many countries give recognition to Palestine?
According to Al Jazeera, at least 146 countries around the world recognize Palestine. India became one of the early countries to recognize Palestine in 1988 itself. G-7 countries- Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom and the United States recognize Palestine. However, France has now announced to do so.
