What is the check before the aircraft fly?

A fierce aircraft accident has been seen in Ahmedabad, Gujarat today. Actually Air India aircraft Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamline crashed in Ahmedabad. The aircraft had 242 passengers. Many of this have died. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also in this plane, who has died. Explain that only one passenger has been saved in this aircraft accident, who has been identified as Ramesh Vishwas Kumar, who is 40 years old and is a British citizen. This aircraft accident has sprinkled everyone. In such a situation, let us tell you what happens in how many stages from the airport to the runway?

1. Pre-Flight Preparation

Flight planning:

The airline’s operation department plans flight before flying any flight, including routes, weather, fuel volume, alternative airports, and flight time. The pilots are given information about flight plans and notice to airmen, which includes runway status, airspace restrictions, etc.

Weather Check:

Pilots and dispatcher examine the weather conditions (Metar and TAF reports), so that the weather conditions can be assessed on takeoff, landing and way.

Technical Inspection of the aircraft:

The aircraft is thoroughly tested by the maintenance crew. This involves checking engines, tires, hydropholic systems, electronics, and other important parts. It is ensured that the aircraft corresponds to the standards of DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).

Fuel check:

The amount of fuel required is calculated, including reserve fuel. The quality and quantity of fuel is examined.

Weight and balance:

The total weight of the aircraft (passengers, accessories, cargo, and fuel) and its center of gravity are checked, so that stability remains during the flight.

2. Ground handling and passenger procedus,

Passenger check-in and boarding (passenger check-in and boarding):

Passengers get tickets and identity checks checked at the check-in counter. The goods are tested and weight measured. After this, passengers sometimes reach the boarding gate after the security check of 1 or 2 layers, from where they are taken to board the aircraft.

Baggage loading:

The goods are scanned and loaded. Dangerous materials are examined.

Ground support equipment:

The ground crew prepares the aircraft with pushback tractors, power supply, and other equipment.

3. Pilot and Crew Procedus,

Pre-Flight Briefing:

Pilots and cabin crew discusses the plans, safety processes and emergency protocols.

Walk-Around Inspection of the aircraft:

The pilot or maintenance staff check the outer parts of the aircraft such as feathers, tail, landing gear, and sensors.

Cockpit Pre-Flight Checklist:

The pilots check all the systems (navigation, communication, engine control, and flight management systems) in the cockpit. Flight control, radar and other mechanical systems are checked.

4. Air Traffic Control (ATC) Coordination (Air Traffic Control (ATC) CORDINATION,

Obtaining Clearance:

Pilots seek startup and pushback permission from ATC. ATC gives clearance of runways and flight routes for takeoff.

Taxiing:

The aircraft is taken out of the gate by pushback tractor, then pilots carry them to the runway via taxiway. During this time the ATC instructions are followed, so that there is no conflict with other aircraft.

5. Final check on runway (Final checks on the runway,

Runway Condition:

ATC and ground staff examine the position of the runway, such as debris, wet runways or other obstacles.

Line-up and takeoff clearance):

The aircraft line up on the runway and receives final takeoff clearance from ATC.

Final System Check:

The pilots conduct a final test of engines, flaps, and other systems before takeoff.

6. Takeoff

After all investigations are completed and permission from ATC, the pilot enhances the aircraft speed to take off the aircraft. During takeoff, the cockpit crew remains cautious and monitors any unusual situation. After the takeoff, the aircraft fly on the prescribed route according to ATC’s instructions.

Important things before flight

DGCA Rule attention: All processes in India are according to the DGCA rules and the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Priority to Safety: Security is most important at each stage, and the flight can be prevented in case of any irregularity.

Coordination: Coordination between ground staff, pilot, ATC, and cabin crew is necessary.
