Fifth day – sesame -jaggery laddu
On the fifth day of Ganesh festival, Lord Ganpati is offered sesame-jaggery laddus. This day is especially special for those devotees who immerse Ganpati after one and a half days, five days or seven days. It is considered very auspicious to offer sesame-jaggery laddus on this day.
The enjoyment of sesame-jaggery laddus is not only for taste, but also health and religious reasons behind it. Both sesame and jaggery give heat to the body in winter, and their effect is beneficial in this season. These laddus are very easy to make and extremely tasty to eat.
Method of making sesame-jaggery laddus
Material:
White sesame: 1 cup
Jaggery: 3/4 cup (chopped)
Peanut: 1/4 cup is roasted and coarsely crushed, if you want to take
Ghee: 1 teaspoon
Cardamom Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Method of preparation:
Fry sesame: Heat a pan and fry the sesame on low flame till it becomes light golden. Keep stirring them continuously so that they do not burn. When the sesame starts swelling and the sound of crackling starts, take them out in a plate and cool them.
Prepare the mixture: After cooling the roasted sesame seeds, grind a little coarsely, so that some sesame remains whole and some powder is formed.
Melt jaggery: Add ghee to the same pan and add chopped jaggery and melt on low flame. Keep stirring jaggery continuously. When the jaggery melts completely and bubbles start rising in it, turn off the heat.
Make laddus: Now add ground sesame, peanuts (if used) and cardamom powder in melted jaggery and mix well.
When the mixture is light hot, then make a round laddus in your hands. Keep in mind, the mixture cools very quickly, so it has to be made quickly. Your delicious and nutritious sesame-jaggery laddus are ready to offer.
