Ninth day- Malpua
Malpua is a traditional and delicious Indian dessert, often made on festivals and special occasions. It is a soft and spongy, which is immersed in a sweet sugar syrup with a fragrance of cardamom and saffron. Here is a simple and traditional method of Malpua to make Shree Ganesh.
Material
For batter:
Flour: 1 cup
Semolina (fine): 1/4 cup
Milk: 1.5 cups or required
Green cardamom powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Fennel: 1/2 teaspoon
For syrup:
Chinese: 1.5 cups
Water: 1 cup
Green Cardamom: 2-3 (Cut)
Saffron threads: 5-6
To fry:
Ghee: to fry
Recipe
Prepare the batter: Take maida, semolina, cardamom powder and fennel in a large bowl. Make a smooth, no lump batter by adding a little milk to it. The consistency of the batter is neither very thin nor very thick. It should be like pudi flour. Cover it for 20-30 minutes so that the semolina swells.
Create syrup: Put sugar and water in a pan and keep it on medium flame. Run it continuously until sugar dissolves. After a boil, add cardamom and saffron to it. Cook the syrup for 4-5 minutes, until it turns a wire. Turn off the heat and leave the syrup lightly.
Fry Malpua: Heat ghee in a wide and deep pan. Keep the heat medium. When the ghee is hot, take the batter in a small bowl and slowly put it in the middle of the hot ghee. The batter will automatically take a round shape.
Cook: Fry the Malpua on low to medium flame until it becomes golden brown and crisp on both sides. When it is fully cooked, take it out with the help of a sieve or span.
Dip in sugar syrup: Immediately put the fried Malpua in the hot syrup. Leave it in sugar syrup for 1-2 minutes so that this juice is absorbed.
Your delicious Malpua is ready. Garnish them with almonds or pistachios and offer naivedya to Ganpati Bappa.
