Seventh day- rice pudding
Rice pudding is a traditional and very popular Indian dessert, often made on special occasions and festivals. On the seventh day of the Ganesh festival, many devotees please Ganpati Bappa by offering rice pudding. Here is a simple and delicious method of making rice pudding.
Material
Rice (Basmati or any small grain): 1/4 cup
Full Cream Milk: 1 liter
Chinese: as per taste
Ghee: 1 teaspoon
Green cardamom powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Dried dry fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins): 2-3 tablespoons (chopped)
Saffron threads: 5-6
Recipe
Prepare rice: Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20-30 minutes. This will cook rice quickly.
Boil milk: Place the milk in a heavy bottom vessel to heat on medium heat. When there is a boil in the milk, reduce the flame.
Cook rice: Sieve the soaked rice and add it to the boiling milk. Now keep stirring it continuously on low heat so that the rice does not stick to the utensil.
Thick: Cook the rice until it becomes completely soft and the milk becomes thick. It can take about 25-30 minutes.
Add sugar and dry fruits: When the kheer becomes thick and the rice is cooked well, add sugar and cardamom powder to it. Cook it for 2-3 minutes until sugar dissolves. Now add roasted dry fruits and saffron threads and mix well.
Serve: Your delicious rice pudding is ready. You can also decorate it with chopped pistachios. Offer Shriganesh and serve it cold or hot.
