Ganguly encouraged Abhimanyu Ishwar’s father, said- ‘He will get opportunities because the age is with him’

Abhimanyu Ishwaran did not get a chance to play a single match during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series played on England tour. Since the first included in the Test team, the Bengal batsman has been longing to get a place in the playing 11. The funny thing is that no captain and management, under the underworks of different captains, expressed confidence in them, due to which 15 other players made a Test debut for India, but they are still waiting for their debut.
Seeing his son being unfair to his father, he could not stay away from his father and he fiercely fiercely on the team management and also heard Gautam Gambhir but now former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has also broken his silence with his son. Ganguly believes that Ishwaran is with him and he will get a chance later.
Quoting the Times of India, Ganguly said, “His age is in his favor. I am still confident that he will get a chance. I think batsmen like Yashasvi (Jaiswal), KL Rahul, (Shubhaman) Gill, (Rishabh) Pant, (Rabindra) Jadeja have scored runs. Just the third place seemed to be a little weak. It may be a little weak. Maybe that God may be there.”
Let me tell you that Ishwaran was first invited to the Test team on a tour of Bangladesh in December 2022, three years ago, when he made it to the team in his place after the injury of the then captain Rohit Sharma. The 29-year-old Ishwaran was also part of Australia’s Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour in the 2024-25 season, but Rohit, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal struggled to make a place in the top order, Ishwar stayed out of the team.
