Neighbours said that Aad resided with his father, Naushad, and stepmother, Razia, who allegedly subjected him to regular physical abuse for both actual and perceived missteps. On Saturday morning, when Naushad noticed that Rs 500 was missing, he accused Aad of stealing the money and assaulted him with a phukni, a metal blowpipe commonly used to stoke coal-based stoves.

New Delhi: A 10-year-old boy named Aad was allegedly killed by his father Naushad over suspicions that he had stolen Rs 500 from their home in Tyodi village, Ghaziabad. According to neighbours, Aad lived with his father and stepmother Razia who reportedly frequently physical abused Aad for both real and imagined transgressions.

On Saturday morning, after finding out the Rs 500 was missing, Naushad accused Aad of theft and began to beat him with a phukni, a metal blowpipe used to stoke coal-based stoves. Witnesses claim he struck Aad multiple times before delivering a fatal blow to the head.

A local resident Rahat Ali said, “Naushad regularly assaulted his son. Today, he reacted violently to the missing money, which ultimately led to the boy’s death. This man had made a habit of beating his child.” The police were alerted to the situation after Aad’s grandparents filed a complaint. Ghaziabad Assistant Commissioner of Police Gyan Prakash Rai said that the couple had been taken into custody, adding that further investigations are underway.
