Australia’s great fast bowler Glenn McGrath has made a big prediction before the upcoming Ashes series. He has said that Australia will win 5–0 in this series against England. The former fast bowler, who played a key role in six Ashes win in his brilliant career, believes that the domestic situation and Australia’s stable combination will prove to be effective against England.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, McGrag said, “It’s very rare for me to predict, right? And I can’t predict it separately – 5-0.”

The five -match series, starting on November 21, will be Australia’s first domestic tour in the new World Test Championship cycle. Meanwhile, England is going to Australia carrying the burden of its recent bad record. He has not won any Test in Australia since the 2010-11 series. The last time under the captaincy of Andrew Strauss, England defeated Australia 3–1 on their land.

However, the tour of Australia for England has been no less than a nightmare. The English team has suffered a 4–0 defeat in the whitewash (2006-07, 2013-14) and 2017-18. In such a situation, it will not be easy for Ben Stokes team to beat Australia in his house at all.

Speaking further, McGrath said, “I have full faith in my team. When Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood and Nathan Lyon are doing well on their home ground, it is going to be very difficult. Also, seeing the record of England, it will be interesting to see if they win a test.”

England had drawn a series 2–2 series at home ground in 2023 Ashes but have not been able to capture the Ashes since 2015. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how the English team performs this time.
