Pune: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday described the under-construction Missing Link Project of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway as a miracle of modern engineering, which will reduce the time of Pune-Mumbai visit by half an hour. After the completion of the project, the Ghat route will be avoided, which will also reduce the traffic congestion. The journey will become more accessible, sharp and comfortable.

Country’s longest tunnel

According to the information, 9 km long and 23 meters wide tunnel is being built under this project. This tunnel will break the record of the tunnel located on the first prosperity highway. Apart from this, 185 meter high bridge is being built on this route, which will also be the highest bridge in the country. Almost the work has been completed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, and the remaining work will also be completed soon.

People will get rid of jam

The Chief Minister said that after reviewing the progress of the project, the journey is expected to reduce about 30 minutes and accidents in the journey time between Mumbai and Pune after the project was completed. There is often a traffic jam situation on the Amritanjan Bridge section on the busy route, which is about 94 km long. This will also get rid of jam to people.

94 percent work has been completed

Officials said that the project includes the longest highway tunnel in India, which will be nine kilometers in length and 23 meters width. He said that it will also include the highest road bridge in the country 185 meters high. He said that 94 percent of the work has been completed so far and the remaining construction work will also be completed soon. He praised engineers and workers for surrender under challenging circumstances.
