Google has already confessed to installing Gemini AI in Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Tech company has given a hefty amount to Samsung every month to install Gemini AI in Galaxy phone. This was confirmed by Google’s Vice President Peter FitzGerald. In fact, Google is undergoing anti-trust trial in the US court these days, in which the company is being heard by violation of rules and monopoly.
Google’s big confession
According to a Bloomberg report, Google’s Vice President said in its confession that Google started paying Samsung in January this year despite the company found violation of the antitrust law. This deal of Google Gemini is two years old, in which apart from Fix Monthly Payment, Samsung is given some percentage of the revenue of the Gemini app subscription.
David Dahalquist, a lawyer of the Department of Justice, has called this fixed monthly payment a hefty amount. However, neither Google nor Department of Justice have not made it clear how much money has been given. Anti-Trust trial is going on in the US court on Google these days, in which Justice Amit Mehta kept Google in the dock and said that the practice of paying companies to set its apps as default on Samsung phone was a clear violation of antitrust laws.
Cotted money to Samsung
However, this is not the first time Google has violated the rules of anti-trust. Google is accused of giving a hefty amount to install apps in Samsung’s phone. According to the report, Tech Company has paid $ 8 billion (about 6.8 lakh crore rupees) to Samsung for this. Not only this, in 2022, Google is also accused of payment of $ 20 billion (about Rs 17 lakh crore) to remain a default search engine in Safari Browser.
