Google Chrome High Risk Warning
The government has released a new high risk warning for Google Chrome users. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in) has issued an advisory for Google Chrome users, which has said the high security risk for desktop users. Due to this problem, the access hackers of users may be handed over when using Google Chrome in the desktop. Cert-in has placed this problem of Google Chrome in a high risk category.
High risk warning
Cert-in issued this advisory for Google Chrome users on 16 May. In its advisory, the agency said that the arbitration code in Google Chrome’s desktop version has been found to have problems, due to which the access hackers of the system can be found. For this, users have been asked to update their desktop Google Chrome with a new version.
Currently, this problem is facing the old version of Google Chrome. If you are using the desktop version of Google Chrome 136.0.7103.113 or above, then you will not have to face any kind of trouble. At the same time, if you are using the old version, then update it immediately. Google has fixed this problem in Chrome’s desktop version 136.0.7103.113.
How to update?
- To update Google Chrome browser, first launch Chrome in your desktop.
- After the browser is launched, click on the three dots on the right side and go to the settings.
- In the settings, you will find an option with About Chrome at the bottom. On clicking on it, you will see the option to update the browser.
After updating the browser, you have to re-launch Google Chrome once again. Then you can check the new version of Google Chrome (136.0.7103.114) in the option of About Chrome.
