GST collection: GST collection of Rs 1.96 lakh crore in July, 66.8 in refund
GST collection: The data for the GST collection held in July 2025 has been released. In July this year, the gross GST collection increased by 7.5 percent on an annual basis to about Rs 1.96 lakh crore. GST collection has increased mainly due to increase in domestic revenue. In July last year, the Gros Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection was Rs 1.82 lakh crore. Let us tell you that in June 2025, the country’s total GST collection was Rs 1.84 lakh crore and GST collection in May 2025 was Rs 2.01 lakh crore. Let us tell you that in April this year, the GST collection was on lifetime high of Rs 2.37 lakh crore.
6.7 percent increase in gross domestic revenue
Apart from the GST collection, the gross domestic revenue increased by 6.7 percent to Rs 1.43 lakh crore in July 2025. Whereas, during this period, tax collection from import increased by 9.5 percent to Rs 52,712 crore. In June this year, there was a tax collection of Rs 45,690 crore from import. According to information received from government data, GST refund in July this year increased by 66.8 percent to Rs 27,147 crore on an annual basis. The total refund in June was Rs 25,491 crore.
Net GST Revenue also increased in July 2025
In July 2025, the NET GST Revenue rose 1.7 percent to Rs 1.69 lakh crore on an annual basis. In June this year, the NET GST collection was Rs 1.59 lakh crore. Tax partner Saurabh Aggarwal in EY India said that despite some global pressures and temporary decline, the overall trend explains stable consumption models and the continuous growth of the economy. Aggarwal said, “The government’s timely refund process is also a major help for companies, which ensures that they have the necessary working capital available.”
