Devon Conway scored 52 runs in 35 balls which included 6 fours and 2 sixes. But the real blast by Dewald Brevis, he hit 57 runs off just 23 balls with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes. Chennai scored 230 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.
In response to the target of 231 runs, Gujarat collapsed in the beginning. Shubman Gill (13), Jose Butler (5) and Sherfen Rutherford (0) returned to the pavilion in Powerplay and the team managed only 35-3 runs in 6 overs.
After this, Sai Sudarshan (41) and Shah Rukh Khan (19) shared a 50+ run partnership, but in the 11th over, Ravindra Jadeja overturned the game by dismissing both in the same over. Jadeja gave just 1 run in this over and took two important wickets.
Noor Ahmed also took 3 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs while bowling amazing, he did Rashid Khan (12), Rahul Tewatia (14) and Arshad Khan (20). At the same time, Anshul Kamboj took 3 wickets for 13 runs in just 2.3 overs and the Gujarat team was reduced to 147 runs in 18.3 overs.
CSK won the match by 83 runs. Although Chennai was already out of the playoff race, the team showed power in the last league match and took a respectable farewell. On the other hand, this defeat may be overshadowed for Gujarat Titans.
