Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar: The new head of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, has also been killed. The Israelis killed him in an intelligence ground attack in Gaza. The Israeli Army’s 828 Brigade Rafah found his body in Al-Sultan area. Meanwhile, CNN reported in its report that to confirm the death of Yahya Sinwar, Israeli soldiers cut off his fingers.
According to the information, Israeli soldiers had found a body resembling that of Yahya Sinwar. After this they cut his finger for DNA testing. Sinwar was imprisoned in an Israeli prison until his release in 2011. He was in jail for almost two decades. For this reason Israeli soldiers had his profile. Because of this, DNA testing became easier.
Could not be identified by teeth
Chen Kugel, chief pathologist at the Israel National Center of Forensic Medicine, said, “After preparing the laboratory profile, we compared the body to Sinwar’s profile taken while he was in LA. After this, he was identified through DNA.” Kugel further told CNN that he first tried to identify him by his teeth, but he was not successful.
Died due to gunshot to head
The doctor who conducted the post-mortem of Yahya Sinwar’s body told CNN that Sinwar was killed by a bullet to the head. He told CNN that the Hamas leader had suffered other injuries, including wounds from a tank shell, but he was confident that the Hamas leader died from a gunshot to the head.
Yahya Sinwar was the mastermind of the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, in which more than 1,200 people were killed. Since then Israel has been continuously attacking Gaza.
