New Delhi, October 18 (IANS). Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday claimed the killing of Hamas terrorist leader Yahya Sinwar. He described Sinwar as the main conspirator of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Benjamin Netanyahu issued a video message saying, “Hamas terrorist leader Yahya Sinwar had planned a devastating attack against Israel on October 7 in 2023.”

Netanyahu called it the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust. In this attack, the terrorists mercilessly killed 1200 people, which included the elderly, Holocaust survivors and children. Women were brutalized, men were beheaded and children were brutally burnt alive. In addition, 251 women, men and children were taken hostage in Gaza’s dark places.

The Prime Minister also said that today the mastermind of this evil, Yahya Sinwar, is no more. He was killed in Rafah by the brave soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces. He said this is not the end of the war in Gaza, but it is definitely the beginning of the end.

Netanyahu further said that this war could end tomorrow. But this will be possible only if Hamas lays down its arms and returns our hostages. He said Hamas was holding 101 hostages in Gaza, who were citizens of 23 countries, including Israeli citizens. Israel will do its best to bring all hostages home and the safety of those who return hostages will be guaranteed.

He warned that if anyone tried to harm the hostages, Israel would find them and bring them to justice. He further said that the axis of terror created by Iran is collapsing one by one in front of us. Nasrallah, his deputy, and other terrorist leaders are no more. The reign of terror imposed by the Iranian regime on its own people and the people of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen will also end.

He said those who want a future of prosperity and peace in the Middle East must unite and work together to build a better future. Coming together we can push back the forces of darkness and create a future of light and hope for all.
