An Israeli report said that Hamas used sexual violence as a ‘war weapon’ in his attacks on 7 October 2023. The report was released on Tuesday, which is based on other investigations of the International and Israeli Rights Groups and the United Nations by the terrorist group attack. The report of the team of legal and sexual experts ‘Diranah Project’ has prepared their findings based on the testimony of the victims and eyewitnesses, the details of the relief workers and forensic, visual and audio evidence.

Hamas silenced the victims

The report sought a change in the manner of prosecution of sexual violence. It said that Hamas took the lives of the victims and silence them, which deprived the investigators of the important evidence necessary to blame the culprits. The report said, “Most of the victims were permanently silenced either during or later they were murdered or they are so shocked that they cannot talk, causing evidence challenges.”

Now the matter is going on the ceasefire

This shocking report comes at a time when Israel and Hamas Gaza are talking about a ceasefire for the 21 -month -long war, which started with a sudden attack by terrorists from across the border. Under the proposed agreement, the fight in the Palestinian region will be stopped and some of the remaining 50 living hostages will be released.

Statements for hostages returned

The report stated that it includes dozens of details, including the victim of the rape attempt, 15 hostages, 17 witnesses and many others. In some cases, the ‘Diaah Project’ himself interviewed, while in others he rely on public evidence or published details.

Former hostages experience sexual harassment

Citing the news in Israeli and international media, he said that 15 former hostages either experienced or seen sexual harassment in some form or the other, including physical sexual violence, forced nudity, oral sexual harassment and forced marriage threats. Two male hostages reported that they were forcibly stripped and faced physical harassment.

At least four cases of gang rape

The report said the statements of witnesses indicate at least 15 different cases of sexual harassment, including at least four cases of gang rape. The report states that her findings reveal the ‘pattern’ in sexual attacks, including the victims partially or completely nude, their hands are bound, and evidence of public insults after gang rape, indicating that they were intentionally used as a warfare weapon.

1200 people were killed in the attack

A Hamas official did not immediately respond to the request of the comment on the new report. Hamas has earlier denied the claim that his soldiers committed sexual violence on October 7, 2023, when Israel was attacked. The attack killed 1,200 people and 251 hostage. In a report last year, the United Nations said that there are ‘appropriate basis’ to believe that Hamas raped women during the attack, sexual harassment and other cruel and inhuman behavior.
