Applause Entertainment’s much awaited international series ‘Gandhi’ is going to be held in the World Premier 2025’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). This is a very special and historical moment for Indian stories. The series, directed by famous director Hansal Mehta and Prateek Gandhi’s lead role, is included in Tiff’s ‘Primatime Program’, and is the first Indian series that will be shown at this big international festival.

Based on the authentic books of historian Ramchandra Guha, ‘Gandhi’ is a very big and many season story. This series shows us the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi from a new perspective – not just like the great person we know, but as a young, short -run and ambitious person, which the world has not yet known.

The first season of the series, named ‘An Untold Story of Bekcoming (1888–1915), shows Gandhi’s initial visit. It is the story of a curious teenager of colonial India, a shy law student in London and then a young lawyer spending 23 years in South Africa. This story is filled with contradictions, failures and self-addiction. Long before becoming Mahatma, he was just “Mohan”.
