Harvard challenged the order of President Trump, knocked the court door
Harvard University
Massachusetts: Harvard University has challenged President Donald Trump’s order to ban the entry of foreign students who wish to study in the institute into the US. It has been said by Harvard that this step has been taken in a sense of revenge due to rejecting the demands of the White House. Trump has signed a government order to prevent almost all foreign students wishing to study at Harvard University in the country. This is his new attempt to keep international students away from ‘Ivy League School’. The ‘Ivy League’ is a group of eight reputed private universities in the US including Harvard University.
What did Harvard say in the petition?
In the revised complaint filed by Harvard, the President’s action has been described as a step bypassing the order of the court. In the petition, the legal jurisdiction of Trump’s move has been questioned. Trump has imposed this ban under the federal law that allows him to stop the ‘class of foreigners’, considered harmful to the interests of the nation.
‘Action taken to take vengeance’
Harvard said in his petition that it is unfair to classify only those who are coming to America to study in Harvard. The university said, “The President’s action has been taken not to protect America’s interests, but to take vengeance against Harvard.”
