New Delhi: The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert in the next seven days, warning of heatwave and heavy rains in different parts of the country. During the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of scorching heat in 11 states including Delhi. While some states are expected to have thunderstorms and heavy rains.
Rising temperature in northwest India
The temperature is expected to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next six days in north-western India. Central India and Gujarat may see an increase of 2 degrees Celsius in the next three days, while Eastern India may increase by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius.
Heatwave alert in 11 states
According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, the effect of scorching heat can be seen in eastern Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Odisha, Punjab and Delhi today. The night temperatures are also expected to be higher in many areas of Bihar and Jharkhand between 24 and 26 April.
