Heavy rains due to cloudburst in Rampur in Himachal Pradesh, 496 roads in the state closed

Many parts of Himachal Pradesh received intermittent rain on Thursday, while Rampur in Shimla suddenly flooded due to cloudburst. Officials gave information about this. Officials said 496 roads including three national highways have been closed for traffic due to landslides in many parts of the state. He said that there was a sudden flood in the Teklech market due to cloudburst in Rampur area of Shimla district late on Wednesday night, but no casualties were reported, because the surrounding houses were evacuated in view of the danger.

Rain orange alert issued

He said that after the landslide, a total of 496 roads including Chandigarh-Manali National Highway No. 21, Old Hindustan-Tibet Marg (National Highway Number Five) and Aut-Sainz Road (National Highway No. 305) were closed for traffic. According to the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC), 278 roads were blocked in Mandi district on Thursday, while 118 roads in the nearby Kullu district were closed. The Meteorological Department released a ‘Orange Alert’ on Sunday on Sunday in Una, Kangra, Mandi, Solan and Sirmaur districts and on Monday in Una, Bilaspur, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi at different places in different places. Moderate to heavy rains continued in some parts of the state.

108 people died so far

Naina Devi received 92.6 mm of rain from Wednesday evening, followed by 81.6 mm in Raipur Maidan, 75.1 mm in Pachhad, 67.7 mm in Olinda, 62.5 mm in Kangra, 42.5 mm in Dharamshala, 32.6 mm in Nahan, 32.5 mm in Kasauli and 31.4 mm in Dehra Gopipur. In this monsoon, about 108 people have died in rain -related incidents, while 36 people are missing. SEOC reported that in addition, 1,120 transformers and 245 water supply schemes have been affected. The state has suffered a total loss of Rs 1,905 crore since the onset of monsoon on 20 June in Himachal Pradesh. So far, there have been incidents of sudden floods, 28 times cloudburst and 51 big landslides in the state.
