Peshawar: Three people, including a teenager, were killed when a roof fell after heavy rains in Lucky Marwat district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The police have given information about the incident on Thursday. According to the police, the incident occurred late on Wednesday night in Sarai Naurang tehsil of the district when the roof of the dilapidated house collapsed due to torrential rains. Rescue personnel said that local residents have also helped in relief operations.

Officials issued warning

After the accident, the authorities have also issued a warning for other dilapidated buildings in the area in view of heavy rains. Officials on Saturday warned of glacial floods in northwest Pakistan and had forecast more rain in the area this week. When the lake made of frozen snow on the mountains breaks down and a lot of water starts flowing down, it is called glacial floods.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rains

Local Disaster Management Authority spokesman Anwar Shahzad said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has recorded far more rainfall than the same period last year. Flood warnings have been issued due to the possibility of a glazed lakes in the area.

The building collapsed in Karachi

Let me tell you that earlier in the beginning of July, a multi -storey residential building collapsed in Karachi, Pakistan, at least seven people were killed and eight people were injured in the accident. This five -storey building built in 1974 was on the list of dilapidated buildings in the old areas of Karachi. (Language)
