New Delhi: Rainfall has been going on for the last 24 hours in many states of the country including Gujarat and Maharashtra. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of torrential rain in Gujarat, Maharashtra many states today i.e. on Friday. During this time, strong winds may blow at a speed of 40-50 kmph in some places.

Alert of heavy rain in these states

According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, Gujarat, Mumbai, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar and Odisha may receive heavy rains. Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana may also receive heavy rains during 22 and 26 August. Heavy rains are expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan during the next 6-7 days. A new round of heavy rainfall can begin in Gujarat from 25 August.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning light to moderate rainfall at most places in Jammu and Kashmir-Laddh-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan during the next 7 days. Heavy rains are likely to continue at different places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh during the next 5 days.

Warning of heavy rain in these districts of Odisha

The Meteorological Department said that heavy rains are likely in many areas of 14 districts of Odisha on Friday. Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert for Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Cuttack districts for Friday. Whereas ‘Yellow Alert’ has been released for 22 August for Jajpur, Khurda, Puri, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kejhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.

Apart from this, on Friday, there is a possibility of lightning at some places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Sonpur, Buddha, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabrangpur, Raigad, Koraput and Malkangiri districts, there is a possibility of lightning and strong winds at some places at some places at some places.
