New Delhi, October 20, (IANS). Israel’s military action against Hezbollah continues in Lebanon. The IDF says its warplanes struck a command center of Hezbollah’s intelligence department and an underground weapons manufacturing site in Beirut on Sunday morning.

Before the attack, the IDF issued an evacuation warning to civilians in the area, The Times of India reported.

Apart from this, Israeli forces killed three prominent members of Hezbollah in separate attacks in southern Lebanon.

The IDF named them as al-Hajj Abbas Salameh, a senior member of Hezbollah’s southern front, Reda Abbas Ouda, a communications expert, and Ahmed Ali Hussein. Hussain was handling the responsibility of arms manufacturing.

Meanwhile, a media report claimed that Hezbollah’s deputy leader and deputy secretary general of the organization, Naeem Qasim, is currently in Iran. About a week ago he managed to escape from Lebanon on an Iranian plane. According to The Times of Israel, UAE-based Arem News made this disclosure quoting an unidentified Iranian source.

The source says that top leaders of the Islamic Republic ordered his transfer out of fear of assassination by Israel.

Qassem reportedly left Beirut on October 5 on a plane used by Tehran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi for state visits to Lebanon and Syria, according to the report.

Naim Qassim, 71, is often seen as Hezbollah’s ‘number two’. Qasim has a long association with Shia politics.

Let us tell you that on September 27, Israel Defense Forces had killed Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah. He became Secretary General of Hezbollah in 1992 at the age of 30. Over the next 32 years, he made Hezbollah a major power not only in Lebanon but in the Middle East.

After Nasrallah’s death, Qasim said on September 30 that the Iran-backed Lebanese organization would ’emerge victorious’ in its fight. He said his group would counter Israeli military ground attacks on Lebanon.
