‘High alert’ in Himachal areas bordering Pathankot, CM Sukhu gave instructions

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that a ‘high alert’ has been issued in the areas of the state bordering Pathankot in Punjab. At the same time, the police have been asked to issue special instructions for ‘blackout’ in the border areas of Nurpur and Indora in Himachal’s border areas. Sukhu held a meeting with officers and district heads here.

We have to fulfill our responsibility

During this, the Chief Minister said, “There is nothing to panic but we have to ensure our security. We have to fulfill our responsibility and need to be cautious. He appealed to the common citizens to believe only official information. Talking to reporters here, he said that control rooms including the office of the Chief Secretary, General Administration Department will be open to help people and take immediate action if needed. The Chief Minister assured that there will be no stone unturned to ensure the safety of about 103 students currently studying in Jammu and Kashmir.

Security increased across the state

He asked the Chief Secretary to take quick action to bring the students back home. Officials said that security has been increased across the state and strict monitoring is being done in the districts bordering Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Nurpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Ratan has urged people not to avoid spreading rumors on social media and not posting any statement that will disturb peace and harmony.

Buses going to Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar stopped

Meanwhile, officials said that several bus routes have been closed for Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has stopped buses leading to Katra, Pathankot, Amritsar and Jalandhar until further orders. The Ministry of Defense said on Thursday that the Indian armed forces thwarted Pakistan’s efforts to target military establishments in 15 cities in the northern and western parts of the country. In response to the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, the Indian armed forces on Wednesday carried out missiles on nine targets of terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK) under ‘Operation Sindoor’.
