port of Spain: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Trinidad and Tobago has given a new dimension to the relationship between the two countries. Bilateral relations between India and Trinidad and Tobago are now desperate to touch new heights. For this, both countries have signed 6 important agreements. India and Trinidad and Tobago signed six bilateral agreements on Friday to strengthen relations in many areas such as infrastructure, medicine, culture, sports and digital cooperation. These agreements were reached after a high -level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his counterpart Kamla Prasad Bisacer.

Travel after 25 years

Prime Minister Modi is on a historic visit to Trinidad and Tobago. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister after 1999. The Ministry of External Affairs described it as “special relations that have brought special relations to new heights”. Many major announcements made during this period have now given new pace to the relationship.

Participation in UPI system, digital change and capacity building.

Announcement of India’s Foreign Citizenship (OCI) card to the sixth generation of Indian origin settled in the Caribbean country.

Global cooperation

Consent to increase cooperation on global issues like climate change, disaster management and cyber security.

New passion in relations between India and Trinidad

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Trinidad has brought new enthusiasm in the relationship between the two countries. PM Modi also met President Christine Carla Kangalu during this period and congratulated him on receiving the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award. He said that there is “natural warmth” in relations between India and Trinidad. During this time he also addressed the Parliament of Trinidad, in which he underlined the historical cultural and cricket relations between the two countries. He appreciated the contribution made by people of Indian origin in politics, business, literature, sports and music. (Language)
