High-speed corridor will connect Wadhavan Port with prosperity.
The Maharashtra government has taken an important step towards strengthening the state’s logistics and transport network. The Wadhavan Port being built in Palghar district has been approved to construct a 104.89 km long high-speed cargo corridor to connect the Hindu heart emperor Balasaheb Thackeray Samriddhi Mahamarg in Bharveer, Nashik. According to the news of News18 India, this decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday.
Business and logistics will get new direction
According to the news, this proposed high-speed cargo corridor will save the distance as well as time, fuel and cost. Also, it will also strengthen business connectivity of internal regions like Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Maharashtra. Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will construct the project, which will get financial assistance of ₹ 1,500 crore from Hudco. The total cost of the project has been fixed at ₹ 2,528.90 crore and aims to complete it in three years.
New transmission center of the country
This port, which is developing through Wadhavan Port Project Limited, is going to become a major international transmission hub of India. With its commencement, a large amount of movement of international cargo will start here. Its direct connectivity with prosperity highway will make it possible to carry a sharp and affordable transportation of goods across the state and across the country.
The distance will decrease by 78 km
At present, a distance of 183.48 km has to be covered from Wadhavan Port to reaching prosperity from the Mahamarg. It passes through the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway. The new corridor scheme will reduce this distance to just 104.89 km. That is, a distance of 78.58 km will decrease. The journey time will also be reduced from 4-5 hours to only 1 to 1.5 hours.
Which area will get benefit
This high-speed corridor will pass through Dahanu, Vikramgarh, Javhar and Mokhada in Palghar district and Trimbakeshwar and Igatpuri in Nashik districts. Citizens and industries of these areas will get the benefit of better connectivity and economic opportunities. This corridor will benefit MSME sector, agro -based enterprises, IT companies, and educational institutions.
