Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma issued a statement on Tuesday, saying that a shoot-at-site order has been issued at night after communal disturbances in Dhubri district from 13 June. This order will remain in force in Dhubri district during Durga Puja. He said that people of Sanatan Dharma are minority in Dhubri and their security from fundamentalists is the priority of the government. Please tell that Himanta Biswa Sarma said this during a program in Kokrajhar. The Chief Minister said that there is no disturbance in the incidents of Dhubri or violence, but shoot-at-site orders will continue during Durga Puja. Please tell that the festival of Durgapuja will be celebrated from 28 September to 2 October.

Order of shoot at site in Dhubri

He said, “Anyone who try to create unrest in Dhubri will have to face serious consequences.” The Chief Minister visited Dhubri on June 13 and announced that shoot-at-site orders would be implemented in the district at night, on the border of Bangladesh, a communal group is trying to make a mess, which the government will not tolerate. He visited the district again after 10 days and said that more than 150 antisocial, including 11 from outside the state, who had pending cases against him, have been arrested from June 13.

Cow bones found outside the temple after Bakrid

The CM said that a day after Bakrid, the cow’s bones were found in front of the Hanuman temple at the district headquarters, after which members of both Hindu and Muslim communities appealed for peace and harmony. However, the next day, a cow’s head was again placed in front of the temple, while the incidents of throwing stones were also revealed. On 8 June, Sarma said that during the Bakrid festival, several cattle were allegedly killed illegally at several places and threw meat pieces at several places across Assam.
