Hindi poetry on Shiva’s poisoning episode: Neelkanth

0

That moment

When Dev was also afraid,

And asura too silence.

Carry of sea churning

Humanity

It was spreading in every direction.

Was right,

There was a ruckus,

The universe used to burn in the flame of poison.

That halahal

Whose touch was death

Seeing him

Indra back back,

Vishnu covered silence,

And Brahma turned his eyes closed.

Then he woke up

Shiva.

Neither in a festive posture,

With no miraculous arghya,

Rather

Like a simple monk

Whose eyes had surrender,

And a nice neutrality on the mouth.

Because

They did not want a throne,

Neither praise, nor victory.

They wanted

Peace of creation.

For them

All creatures were equal

Dev, demon, creature, vegetation.

They picked up that poison,

To that halahal

Who could consume everything.

Don’t hesitate,

Neither stopped asking anyone.

Bus

Told inside yourself

That squid form of time.

Throat turned blue

Call Neelkanth.

But the poison remained stuck in the neck,

Neither did he touch the heart,

Neither brain

Because Shiva knew

Where to stop the poison.

They drank they

Which no one could touch

And still

In their eyes

The same bright glow of mercy.

The throat was blue,

But the same heart is clean.

Neelkanth

There is a symbol,

Of that sacrifice

Which is done without any expectation.

That resolution

Which is not spoken by any stage,

Rather

Played in silence.

They are not the gods of the gods

Because they were worshiped,

Rather because

Because they picked up

Which everyone left.

Shiva

They are consciousness

Who says

That when everyone is afraid,

There should be someone then

Who drinks fear,

And still smiled.

They said no

That they saved the world,

They did not promote

That they are heroes

They just

Did his job,

And sat in meditation

As if nothing has happened.

Neelkanth Shiva

He is a silent greatness.

Which does not see, but wears it.

One who burns, does not give heat.

Who drinks,

So that everyone else can live.
