Housing women came out of homes, entrepreneurs are being made: Bihar-khadi-training-women-elepreneurship
Rural women of Bihar are now writing a new chapter of empowerment. The hands which once had only the responsibility of the household, now the same hand has become the identity of Khadi products in the market. Khadi training centers run by the government are not only making these women skilled, but are also self -reliant, confident and socially honored.
Hunar caught flying after leaving homes
Earlier the tasks which were considered limited to domestic needs only – such as sewing, embroidery, weaving, incense sticks, soap and detergent powder construction – are now making women financially self -reliant. Modern technical education and practical information are being given to women in these training centers run by Khadi and Village Industries Department.
These training not only teaches the technology of production, but also makes full arrangements to understand the quality of fabric, designing trends and market demand, so that women can present their products in the market competitively.
Training period fixed by work
Keeping in mind the convenience of women and the nature of work, the period of training is also kept separately:
Sewing and weaving – 3 months
Incense sticks and detergent construction – 1 month
This program prepared in a planned manner Enables immediate skills and start business.
Achievements: Training to self -sufficiency
In the financial year 2024-25, 59 training programs were organized in the entire state, of which 950 women and 550 men benefited. After completing the training, many women are earning regular income by joining Khadi institutions, while many others have started their own short business.
This change is not only making women financially competent, but is also making a clear change in their self-esteem and social status. Now the women of the villages are contributing to their skills to the house as well as the economic situation of the society and the state.
Industry Minister Nitish Mishra’s initiative
Industry Minister Nitish Mishra’s vision and commitment have been prominent behind this entire campaign. He said, “Our goal is to establish Khadi malls in every division, so that rural products can get a permanent and large market. Also, there are plans to connect these products with e-commerce platforms, so that these women can connect with the mainstream of online business.”
His thinking is based on ideals like “Khadi for Fashion, Khadi for Nation and Khadi for Transformation”, which not only connects Khadi to modernity, but also strengthens the rural economy.
Social change with economic change
This scheme has brought a tremendous improvement in the economic condition of women, and along with this, their social level has also up. Their role in families is no longer limited, they are also joining the decision making process. Also, new avenues of employment have started to be opened at local level in rural areas.
This initiative proves that if the right training, guidance and resources are found, then the women of the village can also become a ’employment provider’, not only ’employment seekers’.
