Haridwar: A huge accident took place in the Mansa Devi temple of Haridwar today. Six devotees were killed and around 36 people were injured in a stampede in the morning on the walking ladder road of the temple. Due to Sawan and Sunday, devotees thronged the Mansa Devi temple today. People had a rally on the ladder road of the temple, when there was a stampede here. Some people say that due to the rumor of the current spread in the temple, there was chaos and people were killed when they fell on the stairs. The Haridwar police is also calling a rumor to spread the current in the temple. Police say the accident happened due to gathering huge crowd in the temple.
The shopkeeper told this thing on foot
Awadhesh, who runs a prasad shop on the footway, told that the elderly woman fell after which chaos and stampede started. He told that no wire was broken, it was a rumor. Today, even after increasing the crowd, the administration kept the same way to come and go, due to which there was no space left even to set foot on the footway. At the time of Kavad, devotees from the CDO used to go towards the temple and used to come down from the back path, that is, the way to come is different and the way to return. A shopkeeper said that people entered a small shop entered inside the shop to save their lives, due to which the shopkeeper also fainted. The administration removed the broken wire scattered slippers to erase the stampede marks, but there are still stampede marks under the shops of Prasad.

The Chief Minister has announced a relief amount of two lakh rupees to the families of the deceased and fifty-fifty thousand rupees to the injured.
