In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Shilpa Shirodkar said that after marriage, she had settled in New Zealand with husband Aparesh. He said- ‘After marriage, I settled New Zealand with Apearsh and I took this decision on my own. My husband is a banker and double MBA. On the other hand I … I am the tenth failure. After marriage, I used to feel sometimes embarrassed about the education difference between the two. However, in a sense, whenever I have to ask or understand something, I get advice easily. ‘

There is no regret over her decision- Shilpa Shirodkar

Shilpa further says- ‘My husband is a very straightforward and good person in real life. It was very important for me to start a new life with him. I have no regrets about the fact that I left Mumbai at one time. If my marriage was in India, I might have been able to continue my work too, but I have no regrets on my decision. Shilpa admitted that she had never thought of quitting Mumbai or India, but her attitude changed after meeting Apresh for the first time.

Continuing her point, Shilpa said- ‘This was an easy decision, because it was my own choice. Everything seems easy when you do something with your choice. I did not feel like leaving Mumbai, because I was very close to my parents. But, then I met Apresh and in just one and a half days I said yes, knowing that he will not stay in India, but will go abroad for studies. I liked his honesty so much that I agreed without thinking more and then everything went on its own. ‘
