Understand in ordinary language that you will need a solar panel of 5KW to run a 1.5 ton of AC in the house.
Electricity bill will be saved like this
If you want that you do not even get electricity bill on running AC, then you will have to install off grid solar system for this. For this, you can put the load of the entire house on the solar panel including your AC. In this, you need to install heavy duty battery with solar inverters. The DC current coming from the solar panel converts the solar inverter AC, through which you will be able to run the load of the entire house including AC.
At night time you will continue to get electricity through batteries. However, with the battery you will be able to run the AC for 2 to 3 hours. To solve this, you will need to install either on-grid solar system or hybrid solar system. To get an on-grid solar system, you have to apply to the Electricity Department. In this, the load of your house will be on main supply at night.
Which solar system will be beneficial?
Talking about the hybrid solar system, you will not have the problem of power bill as well as power cut. In this, additional electricity from solar panels can be credited to the government during the day of day time. With this, you can use credited electricity even after loading on supply at night time. Now, it depends on you what kind of solar system you want to install in the house. Given the need of an average house, a 5kw solar panel may be suitable. If you have more equipment in your house, then you may need to install more panels.
