How much loss to Air India and Air India Express, government released data in Lok Sabha
Air India and Air India Express News: According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Air India and Air India Express incurred a total loss of Rs 9,568.4 crore in the financial year ended in March 2025. In the last financial year, Akasa Air and SpiceJet recorded a tax-re-deficit of Rs 1,983.4 crore and Rs 58.1 crore respectively, while IndiGo recorded a tax-profit profit of Rs 7,587.5 crore. These figures were shared by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol as a written answer to a question in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. These are provisional figures.
Air India owned by Tata Group incurred a loss of Rs 3,890.2 crore, while its branch Air India Express, which was a long-profitable, recorded a loss of Rs 5,678.2 crore in 2024-25. The loss -making Air India and the profitable Air India Express were acquired by the Tata Group in January 2022.

According to the data, Air India’s debt was Rs 26,879.6 crore, while IndiGo’s debt reached Rs 67,088.4 crore. According to the data, the debt of Air India Express, Akasa Air and SpiceJet was Rs 617.5 crore, Rs 78.5 crore and Rs 886 crore respectively. (Language)
