A 60 -year -old man in Assam separated his wife’s head. Taking a severed head, he reached the police station on a bicycle and surrendered. The incident took place in Chirang district on the night of 19 April.
Police said that accused Bitish Hajong cut his wife’s head with a sharp weapon and then reached the police station by bicycle. He kept the wife’s sliced head in the bicycle basket.
Police said that accused Bitish is a daily wage laborer. There were quarrels between him and his wife, due to which Bitish killed his wife. A neighbor said that the two had a quarrel after returning home from work on Saturday night. Both used to fight every day on small things.
Chirang’s ASP Rashmi Rekha Sharma said, ‘We have taken the body in possession and sent it for postmortem. Forensic experts have collected samples. The accused husband has been taken into custody and further investigation is on.
