The Ministry of Transport has proposed a new series of hydrogen fuel -powered cars and other vehicles number plates. A draft notification issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on Friday stated that in the case of hydrogen -powered commercial vehicles, the upper half of the number plate would be green and the lower half will be blue, while the figures on the plate will be yellow. In the case of private vehicles, the upper half of the number plate will be green and the lower half will be blue, while the figures will be white. Similarly, in the case of rental cabs, the upper half of the number plate will be black and the lower half will be blue while the figures on the plate will be yellow.

What are hydrogen fuel trains

Hydrogen cars or vehicles are a vehicle that uses hydrogen as a fuel to drive an electric motor. They work by mixing hydrogen and oxygen in a device called fuel cell, which produces electricity and water as a by-product. Hydrogen cars have many advantages as compared to traditional cars, such as zero-furnace, high efficiency and long distance. They can also help reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and improve the air quality around us.

Hydrogen cars in India

Hydrogen cars are not new to India. Indeed, India was one of the first countries to experiment with hydrogen cars in the early 2000s, when the Indian Oil Corporation and Mahindra & Mahindra together developed a three -wheeler car operating hydrogen. Since then, India has made some progress in the field of hydrogen cars, but still it has faced many challenges and there are many opportunities. There are positive attitude for hydrogen cars in India.

Mileage of cars with hydrogen fuel

Hydrogen fuel cars are about 50% less efficiency. They lose some energy during production, storage and transformation of hydrogen. Hydrogen fuel safety standards will include pressure relief valves, rupture discs and sensors that prevent more pressure and leakage of hydrogen tanks. Mileage usually varies due to driving patterns, models and road conditions. Nevertheless, you can expect 250 kilometers on one kilogram hydrogen.
