Hydrogen trucks will run on these highways of the country, the government identified 10 highway stretch-
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Tuesday that the government has identified 10 highway stretches in different parts of the country for the operation of green hydrogen-powered trucks. Gadkari said that these stretches will have stations to insert hydrogen in trains. Indian Oil and Reliance Petroleum will be established by the hydrogen pump. He said that Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and Volvo have already started making hydrogen -powered trucks. Let us tell you that in order to reduce the pollution caused by diesel trucks in the country, preparations are going on vigorously to bring hiradrogen-powered trucks to the roads.
Hydrogen trucks will speed up these highways
The identified highway stretch includes Greater Noida-Dilli-Agra, Bhubaneswar-Puri-Konark, Ahmedabad-Vadodara-Surat, Sahibabad-Faridabad-Dilli, Jamshedpur-Kalingnagar, Thiruvananthapuram-Kochi and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad etc. The minister said that climate change is the biggest challenge before India. He said that India would have to improve its infrastructure to become a $ 5000 billion economy and the world’s third largest economy. Gadkari also said that India has the ability to become the largest exporter of hydrogen. He said that by December this year, India’s logistic cost will come down to single digit.
6 percent reduction in India’s road logistic cost
The Union Minister said that the most important achievement is that IIM Bangalore, IIT Chennai and IIT Kanpur studied and the three said that India’s road logistics cost has decreased by 6 percent. Earlier, India’s logistic cost was around 14–16 percent, while it was eight percent in China and 12 percent in the US and European Union. He said that the government aims to make India’s automobile industry topped in the world in the next five years.
