In the midst of the BCCI discussion of adding Dhoni as the mentor of the national team, this old interview of Pathan is becoming very viral on social media.

Irfan Pathan said in a conversation with Sports in 2020 that he was never a player who joined the personal things to get the grace of the captain. He had given a sharp statement saying, “I was not a habit to put a hookah in someone’s room or do something to please the captain. My attention was only on performing on the field.”

In fact, after 2012, Irfan Pathan’s career suddenly changed and was dropped from the team, while he also took five wickets against Sri Lanka. The same match proved to be his last ODI.
