The International Cricket Council (ICC) issued an official statement on Wednesday, 16 July, stating that the England team bowled at a slow over rate in Lord’s Test, due to which the team’s 10 percent match fees and two points of their World Test Championships have been deducted. As soon as this news became public, Michael Vaughan’s displeasure was also seen.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has openly criticized the ICC. Expressing his disappointment on social media, Vaughan described this decision as “beyond my comprehension” and emphasized that both teams are equally guilty for bad over speed but only England’s points were cut.

Vaughan wrote on X, “To be honest, the over speed of both teams in Lord’s was very bad. Why only one team was reprimanded, it is beyond my comprehension.”

It is worth noting that due to this punishment of the ICC, the English team has now rolled from the second position to the third position with 22 points on the Points Table of the World Test Championship and their PCT (PCT Percentage) has also fallen from 66.67 percent to 61.11 percent. Also know that while the England team has suffered losses here, the Sri Lankan team benefited without doing anything at the WTC points table and they defeated England and reached the second number. Talk about the position of Team India on the points table, then they are at the fourth position with 33.33 PCT, while the Australia team remains on the number-1 position with the entire 100 PCCT.

Talk about all this if India and England If the Test series, the hosts have taken a 2–1 lead by winning the Lord’s Test over Team India. In such a situation, now Team India will have to win somehow in the fourth match of the series to be held in Manchester from July 23. If they are able to do so, then the fifth and last match of the series which is to be played in Kennington Oval, London from July 31 will be a decisive match of the series.
