ICC Test Rankings: Team India rolled in fourth place, Australia captured number one chair

International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest Test rankings on Monday, May 05 in which Indian team Fourth place in the Test rankings has slipped. Rohit Sharma -led team has moved down one place to fourth place with 105 ratings. India’s decline has come after losing two consecutive series against New Zealand and Australia.

The Kiwi team defeated India 3–0 for the first time on domestic soil, while giving historic whitewashing. On the other hand, Australia defeated him 3–1 in the five-match Test series in 2024–25, which meant that India had to give up their possession of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the first time since 2017. Apart from him, England have gained rapid rise in the ranking. The English team is currently in second place with 113 ratings.

The team led by Ben Stokes has won the results of winning their series over West Indies, Sri Lanka and New Zealand in 2024-25. The current champion of the World Test Championship (WTC) Australia is ranked first with 126 ratings, while the upcoming WTC finalist South Africa has slipped third with 111 ratings.

However, of course India has faced a decline in Test rankings, they have retained their first place in ODI and T20 rankings. After the Champions Trophy 2025 win, Men in Blue strengthened its position in the ODI rankings with 124 ratings. Suryakumar Yadav-led youth Brigade has also maintained its top position in the T20 rankings after being invincible in the bilateral series in 2024.

Meanwhile, there have been several changes in the ODI rankings. The Champions Trophy 2025 runner -up New Zealand has finished second, overtaking Australia with 109 ratings. Sri Lanka also continued its rapid growth in ODIs after winning the series over India and Australia and has secured the fourth position, leaving behind Pakistan with 104 ratings. After a spectacular performance in the Champions Trophy, Afghanistan also scored four points and showed huge improvements. He is now above England (84 rating) in seventh place with 91 ratings.
