ICICI Bank’s big shock to customers, increased fees on ATM and cash transactions
Icici bank news in hindi: The country’s leading private bank ICICI has also changed cash withdrawal, cash deposits, rules for the use of ATMs, giving a major setback to the savings account holders since 1 August 2025. The bank claims that this step has been taken to reduce increasing operational expenses and dependence on cash transactions. The bank has reduced the free limit on cash transactions. Now only 3 times a month deposits or withdrawal in the bank will be free. A fee of Rs 150 will have to be paid every time with the fourth transaction. Similarly, there is no fee on cash transactions up to 1 lakh monthly. On top of this, every 1,000 will be charged Rs 3.5 or a minimum of Rs 150 (which is more). The limit of third party cash deposit/withdrawal has been fixed at Rs 25,000 per transaction.
The rules of withdrawing cash from ATM have also been changed. Other banks will allow 3 free transactions from ATMs in metro cities and 5 free transactions in non-Metro. After this, every financial transaction will be charged Rs 23 and non-financial (balance check, mini statement) will be charged Rs 8.5.
The bank has also revised the charge of several other services. After 9 am to 4:30 pm or after depositing more than Rs 10,000 in the holidays, an additional fee of Rs 50 per transaction will be charged. Demand draft will be charged a fee of Rs 2 at Rs 1,000 (minimum Rs 50, maximum Rs 15,000).
Debit card annual fee is now Rs 300 in urban areas and Rs 150 in rural. The replacement card will cost Rs 300. SMS alert fee will be Rs 0.15 per message (maximum Rs 100 per quarter). However, NEFT and IMPS transactions are completely free through internet banking, mobile app or UPI. At the same time, for RTGS from the branch, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 20 to Rs 2 lakh to 5 lakh and Rs 45 above Rs 5 lakh.
Significantly, the bank has increased the minimum monthly average balance for savings accounts in metro and urban areas by 5 times. Now, instead of Rs 10,000, customers will need to keep a minimum of 50,000 rupees in these accounts.
