Kolkata, 19 October (HIST). If the Mamat government of West Bengal does not accept the demands on Monday, then doctors in all government and private hospitals will go on complete strike from Tuesday. This decision was taken after a meeting held between junior and senior doctors on Friday night. Junior doctor Debashish Haldar said that if the government does not fulfill all our demands by Monday, we will be forced to go on a massive strike. He said that senior doctors will also participate in this strike.

Among the 10 demands of junior doctors, the demand for investigation of RG tax incident and improvement in health service is prominent. Junior doctors have been agitating for the last two months. Meanwhile, six junior doctors have fallen ill due to the hunger strike. Five of them are hospitalized.

Debashish said, we are giving time till Monday. During this time the Chief Minister will have to discuss all our demands and accept them. If this does not happen, then on Tuesday we will go on strike in all government and private hospitals. It is noteworthy that recently also the health services in the hospitals of the state were affected due to the strike of junior doctors. Debashish said, if any patient faces any problem during this strike, it will be the responsibility of the government and the Chief Minister.

The agitating doctors will take out ‘Nyaya Yatra’ today. This journey will start from the house of the doctor who is the victim of the RG Kar incident and will reach the fast stage of Dharamtala. Apart from this, ‘Maha Sammelan’ will be organized in Dharmatala on Sunday.
