Virat Kohli may have taken a break from Test cricket, but former Australia captain Michael Clarke feels that if Team India loses badly on the tour of England, the fans will definitely demand him to see him again in the white jersey. Clarke believes that if the captain and the selector insist and the support of the fans is also received, then Kohli can return.

The hopes of returning Virat Kohli in Test cricket are once again gaining momentum. Former Australia captain Michael Clarke says that if India gets a crushing defeat on the England tour, the fans themselves will demand Virat to see Virat again in Test cricket. Clarke said in ‘Beyond23’ podcast that Kohli has not yet completely gone away from Test cricket. He loves this format and if the captain and the selectors call him, they will not refuse.

Significantly, India has not won any Test series in England since 2007. Defeat 0-4 in 2011, 1-3 defeat in 2014 and 2018 and then 2-2 draw series in 2021-22, history has not been in India’s favor.

This time Team India is going on a tour of England with a young and inexperienced squad. In such a situation, Clarke believes that if the results are worse, the demand for return of Kohli may intensify.
