A picture of heart shocking has come out from Navrangpur district of Odisha. Due to lack of road here, a pregnant woman was carried on the cot to an ambulance two and a half kilometers away. During this time, the pregnant woman gave birth to a dead child on the way. This incident is from Dumuniguda village of Ichhapur Panchayat of Jhurgaon block in Navrangpur district.

Ambulance left away from lack of road

Vimala Jani, wife of Chakradhar Jani, a resident of Dumuniguda village, suddenly started suffering on Wednesday. Family members immediately called the ambulance service. Although the ambulance reached the village on time, due to lack of road in the village, he could not reach inside the village and stopped two and a half kilometers in advance. In compulsion, the family members and villagers of the woman arranged for a cot and took the pregnant woman on the cot and took it for two and a half kilometers on foot. After much effort, they reached the ambulance. But by then it was too late.

Blessed child

When the ambulance left Dumuniguda towards the Community Health Center in Jharigaon, the woman gave birth to a dead Shishuputra in the ambulance on the way. Doctors confirmed after reaching Jharigaon Hospital that the child was born in a dead state. However, the mother’s position is currently stable and is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Disrupted exposed

The incident that took place in Dumuniguda village has exposed health facilities and infrastructure in rural areas. There are still no roads in villages like Dumuniguda, due to which essential services like ambulance do not reach on time. According to the information, the locals have been demanding the road for years, but till date no concrete steps have been taken. This time even a life was lost. If the woman had been rushed to the hospital on time, the child’s life could have been saved. However, the authorities have not given any kind of response in this matter yet. (Report: Shubham Kumar)
