If Toll is outstanding, now RC will not get NOC for Insurance Renewal, new rule soon
If your car is outstanding toll on the national highway in any way, then you will pay it immediately, then it would be better. In fact, the Ministry of Road Transport is preparing to introduce a new rules in which no objection certificate (NOC) will not be available for registration renewal (RC), insurance renewal, ownership transfer, transfer or fitness certificate without paying toll arrears. According to the news of the Times of India, the ministry has issued a draft notification to amend the motor vehicle rules.
What is the motive of the ministry
According to the news, the purpose of this initiative of the ministry is to promote the recovery of toll charges through digital and ensure that no one can travel on the toll highway without paying toll. The National Highway Authority (NHAI) has implemented a multi -lane free flow (MLFF) system, with no physical barrier to recover the toll. Due to this, the importance of toll recovery in digital way has increased further.
What is in the new provision
Draft notification provides that if the toll fee is outstanding in the system against a vehicle, the concerned registration authority will not do any work related to depositing motor vehicle tax or transfer of ownership. If the vehicle is not valid fastag or the toll fee has not been paid at a toll point, it will be considered as outstanding fees and will not be issued RC, insurance or NOC for the car.
