Impact of trump tarifs: Fio, the top body of exporters, on Tuesday expressed serious concern over the high US duties on Indian goods and said that Tirupur, Noida and Surat textile manufacturers have stopped production due to these heavy charges. Business in large export market will be badly disrupted: Federation of Indian Export Organizations (Fio) President S.C. Ralhan said that this step would severely disrupted Indian goods in its biggest export market. He described the development as a shock and said that this could have a serious impact on India’s exports to America. Textile and dress manufacturers stopped production: He said that Fio expresses serious concern over the levy of an additional 25 percent fee on Indian -origin goods of the US government, which will increase the total fees on many export categories from August 27, 2025 to 50 percent. He further stated that textiles and dress manufacturers from Tirupur, Noida and Surat have stopped production. Ralhan said that this area is lagging behind in front of low cost rivals of Vietnam and Bangladesh.
