Tamil Nadu: A case of snatching chain from a woman has come to light at Perungudi railway station in Chennai. The incident took place on Tuesday evening. The police have taken quick action and arrested the accused. The arrested youth is Babaji alias Saundar, who hails from Villupuram district. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced.

According to the information, Rosie, a resident of Kotturapuram, is working as a teacher in a private school in Velchery. On Tuesday evening, she was sitting on the platform of Perungudi railway station to go to her house. At the same time, the accused Babaji reached him and sat next to him on the bench. Shortly after getting a chance, he snatched a gold chain from Rosie’s neck and escaped from the spot.

Already allegations of mobile theft

After this incident, the Thiruvanmayur Railway Police immediately registered a case and started the investigation. After intensive investigation, today the accused Babaji alias Saundar was arrested. According to the police, Babaji has been accused of mobile theft earlier.

CCTV footage can be seen that the accused comes and revolves around the woman. After walking for a while, he comes and sits on the bench, where the female teacher is sitting. It can be seen in the video that in the meantime, the accused also talks to the female teacher, then both are sitting on a quiet bench. During this time, the accused is repeatedly staring at the woman’s chain. Then, the female teacher’s chain draws and absconds.
