• Key functions in Treta and Dwapar: In the Treta Yuga, the main function of Lord Parashurama was to protect religion by destroying the tyrannical Kshatriyas. He had made the Earth devoid of Kshatriya 21 times. In the Dwapar Yuga, he taught weapons to great warriors like Bhishma, Dronacharya and Karna and also played a role in the events of Mahabharata.
• Role in Kalyug: According to texts like Bhavishya Purana and Kalki Purana, at the end of Kali Yuga, Lord Parashurama will rise from his penance on the Mahendra mountain and will provide the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Kalki, weapons and spiritual knowledge. He will guide Kalki in the establishment of religion and the destruction of unrighteousness.
• Variation in work: In Treta and Dwapar, Lord Parashurama directly focused on action against war and injustice. While his main role in Kalyug will be as the guru and guide of Lord Kalki. Their task will be to provide knowledge and guidance rather than direct war.
• Religion of ages: Each era has its own religion and requirements. Lord Parashurama intervened when the balance of the power of the Kshatriyas in Treta and Dwapar deteriorated.
